STARLIGHT PAST AND FUTURE TIMES BASED ON STELLAR DISTANCE --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The current year is 2024.89 and the distance to the star is 1 LY. The currently received starlight would have left that star on its way to Earth in the year 2023.89 AD If Earth could be viewed from that distance, they would be seeing Earth as it was in that year.
